Glitchathon 2026

Where creativity meets code.

 About  Glitchathon

Glitchathon is an international creative coding competition for middle and high school students. Participants are asked to design and build a website that intentionally behaves in unconventional ways — challenging common design rules while still being functional and thoughtfully created.

Students should start with a clear idea, then use code to experiment with layout, interaction, navigation, or behavior. The goal is not to create bugs or unfinished work, but to design a complete website where unusual or unexpected behavior is part of the concept.

Throughout the competition, participants focus on creative intent: deciding what the website should do, how users will interact with it, and why it behaves differently from typical websites. Simpler projects with strong ideas are encouraged and can score just as highly as more technical builds.

Whether the final result feels playful, surprising, confusing, or clever, the objective is the same: build a purposeful, original website that creates a memorable experience for the user. Glitchathon is about exploring what happens when code is used creatively, not perfectly.
